Stefan Lakatos devoted himself to the music of the groundbreaking and yet to be fully appreciated north american composer Moondog, and to the trimba, an instrument invented by the latter. This short documentary was shot just before Lakatos’ untimely demise, serving as a tribute to a life of absolute passion for a music which still remains the stuff of dreams.
*** The two short film sessions presented in this edition of SONICA EKRANO take place under the aegis of the European project tekhnē, dedicated to innovative uses and approaches to technology from a user perspective.
The second session focuses on the role of musical instruments – in the case of Saurangi, examining the weight of tradition, and in the case of Something to take care of, exploring the often misunderstood lightness of the new.
